Kofi Bentsi Bentil is a Lawyer and Lead Partner at Lex Praxis. He is a Business Strategy Lecturer and Consultant. He lectured at Ashesi University, University of Ghana Business School, (Executive MBA), and the Kofi Annan ICT Centre in Accra. He holds many corporate training sessions each year in Business Strategy and Services Marketing and Management Skills. Kofi is the Vice President and Policy Analyst of Imani Ghana, one of the leading Think Tanks in Ghana which is voted among the top think tanks in Africa. Kofi handles several areas including Energy policy, Education, and Infrastructure.

Kofi has scored a number of impressive wins as a Lawyer and an advocate representing individuals, companies, and also taking on public interest litigation. He is widely respected and consulted by individuals, companies, and even state institutions and the media on his viewpoints on various issues legal and otherwise. One of the most significant recent Constitutional Law cases ruled on in Ghana related to the Right to Information, which is provided for in Ghana’s constitution, but has been denied to citizens for over a decade. Kofi led a team in a case brought against the government, and won this seminal victory, which has redefined the Right to Information for all Ghanaians today.

Beyond Law, Kofi has a deep and varied experience in corporate Ghana, as a lecturer, practitioner and advocate. In 2015, He served as General Manager for Accent Financial Services, where he helped restructure the company. Kofi Bentil has served as a judged for various Business Plan Competitions including the Google ‘Believe Begin Become’ Competition and Ghana Government’s Private Sector Development Competitions. In 2005 he was honored by the World Bank (and partners) with the Global Development Marketplace Award, an award recognizing his contribution to and expertise in Entrepreneurship. In 2009, Kofi was inducted into the Africa Leadership Network, a wing of the Aspen Institute’s Global Leadership Network. In 2015 Kofi was given an Award for “Visionary Guidance and Undaunting Leadership” for his mentoring work with Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), which is a program initiated and launched by President Obama to support young African leaders across Africa.

Kofi Bentil is active in the technology industry, and was a Founding Executive Member of, The Ghana Association of IT Services Companies (GASSCOM). He worked with many partners including the World Bank to improve I.T. infrastructure and Services in Ghana. Kofi is presently an Advisor to Mpedigree, a firm using technology to provide authentication solutions for pharmaceuticals and many other products. In his previous professional life Kofi Managed Marketing and Business Strategy for I.T. Companies and Ghana’s Second Largest Insurance company, Enterprise Insurance Co. Ltd.

He holds a B.A. in Geography and Resources Development, an MBA in Marketing and a second MBA in Think Tank Management from the USA. He also holds a Post Graduate LLB from the University of Ghana, and the Q.C.L. from the Ghana Law School. He has taken various management and professional courses over his professional life.

Kofi writes for varied intentional media, on Governance and Policy Issues especially relating to Ghana and Africa. He has travelled widely and is a much sought after speaker locally and internationally.

Akushika Amu is a Partner at Lex Praxis. She received her Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology and subsequently obtained her QCL from the Ghana Law School. She started her Law practice in the Civil Division of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General’s Department, where she gained lots of insight into how the government system works.


Akushika has in-depth experience in advising foreign and local investors in initial business set up. She has significant experience in drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, advising on client regulatory compliance and providing corporate legal advisory services to companies in the Oil and Gas, Insurance, Finance and Hospitality industry.

Prior to joining the firm, she was an Associate at Prime Attorneys, a dynamic business law firm where she acquired a variety of skills and knowledge in the practice of corporate & commercial law in Ghana.
Akushika’s professional strengths are in corporate and commercial law.

She has in depth experience in providing on-going legal support in maintenance of corporate status, due diligence, corporate governance and compliance, negotiating deals & transactions, legal questions in business operations, and employment issues. She has worked extensively on legal due diligence, private placements of securities; international trade and investment matters, debt financings with banks, insurance companies and other institutional lenders.
